Join the American Fork Children’s Choir for the second of two spring concerts celebrating ‘De Colores’ … In this concert songs will explore the shades of black, grey, silver and white, emerging from the clouds with “The Rainbow Connection” and “Over the Rainbow.”

American Fork Symphony

“SALUTE TO YOUTH” Concert

       Six of Utah’s most talented young musicians will take the spotlight on stage during the American Fork Symphony’s 2018 Salute to Youth concert on Monday, April 16, 7 p.m. at the American Fork Junior High School Auditorium, 20 W. 1120 North. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3 to 18 or $15 for a family pass. Seating is general admission; arrive early for best seating. Performing during the concert with accompaniment by the symphony will be pianist Julia van der Beek, 9, of American Fork; pianist Sabrina Allen, 13, of Provo; pianist John Zhao, 15, of Midvale; harpist Julia Johnson, 16, of Orem; violinist Taya Tippetts, 16, of Mapleton; and cellist Nathan Heyrend, 16, of Highland. The American Fork Symphony annually presents its Salute to Youth concert to give local youth a chance to solo with an orchestra and allow audiences to enjoy the amazing young talent emerging in their area. The soloists are selected through an audition process.

American Fork Community Theater is proud to announce their summer production will be, “Shrek The Musical!” Auditions for this hilarious, family-friendly musical will be held this month. American Fork Youth Theater

AUDITIONS FOR PETER PAN JR.

American Fork Youth Theater will be holding auditions for Peter Pan Jr on May 11th from 3-6 p.m. at the American Fork Fitness Center. Auditioners ages 8-18 need to prepare 18 measures of a Disney of Broadway musical song. Directed by Rachelle Elbert and choreographed by Mike Romney, this Broadway timeless classical musical whisks you away to a place where dreams are born and no one ever grows up! The Timpanogos Chorale is pleased to present a choral jubilee, with selections both tender and exuberant 5/21/2018, 7:30pm, at the American Fork Junior High, 20 W 1120 N, American Fork. Recommended donation of $5/person, $15/family. This season’s concert features a wide repertoire of music. From Johnson’s soulful spiritual “Ain’t Got Time To Die,” to Rutter’s rambunctious arrangement of “When The Saints Go Marching,” to Gretchaninoff’s profound “Our Father,” with many more in between. Visual Arts Program

FUNDAMENTALS OF ART

This is a class that will introduce new artists to the basic elements and principles of art. 4/21, 10 AM to 4 PM at the American Fork Arts Institute, 53 W Main Street. $40. This six hour class will discuss the basic elements and principles of art – Line, Shape, Form, Value, Space, and Texture. Attendees will be presented with information that will give them a solid foundation upon which to build their art. The students will have, as the class goes along, an opportunity to practice their skills based on the information shared. We will serve lunch at the middle of the class and at the end each student will receive a CD with all of the materials discussed and additional articles from noted artists. LEARN TO USE COLORED PENCILS with Chuck Gilliam

Come join us May 26th and June 2nd from 10 AM to 1PM at the American Fork Arts Institute, 53 W Main in American Fork. We will explore the properties of this exciting new medium and learn ways to use the medium and it various elements. With hands-on activities we will let you grow with using colored pencils. You will learn the various applications of the pencils and the essential materials and tools such as papers, solvents, sharpeners, erasers, as well as complete color ranges for colored pencils.
