Practices and Commitments

Our concert year runs from September through the first part of June. In September we begin rehearsal for our Christmas concert. We break for the holidays and reconvene in January, when we begin rehearsals for our spring and  summer concerts.

Timpanogos Singers rehearses every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the TAF Arts Center in American Fork, Utah. The address is 53 West Main St. in American Fork. Please enter through the rear of the building. We do not rehearse June through August.

Choir members should plan to rehearse and perform with us for the entire concert year. Attendance at dress rehearsals and our main performances of our Christmas, spring, and summer concerts is mandatory. We make every effort to provide the year’s schedule in advance so choir members can arrange their schedules accordingly.

GIVING BACK MUSICALLY TO THE COMMUNITY

Timpanogos Singers’ mission is to provide members with vocal opportunities, to aid in the development of their musical talents and skills, to assist in the development of their appreciation for beautiful music from diverse cultures and genres, and to present such music to the community.

TAF has a long history with adult choirs. Our choirs have previously performed at the Golden Spike Centennial celebration, in the Tabernacle on Temple Square and at the Provo Tabernacle Chorale Festival, at the West Valley Multi-Choir Festival in West Jordan, the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington DC, the Riverton Music Festival, Deer Valley Music Festival, and Idaho Performing Arts Series.

Collaborations have included performing with Lex de Azevedo’s Millennium Choir,  the Utah/Idaho Performing Arts Company, American Fork Symphony, Wasatch Winds, Utah Premiere Brass, Eagle Rising, and the Kensington Symphony Orchestra.

Miriam taught choir and elementary music at APA from 2017–2022, and she now works as Administrative Assistant for Brigham Young University (BYU) School of Music.
