The “America, Our Country” Mary Kawakami Youth Speech Contest took place this past Saturday, November 4th, at the beautiful Valentine Theater. The event showcased a remarkable assembly of exceptionally talented young speakers. Each participant delivered a captivating speech lasting between 2 to 3.5 minutes, all centered around the theme of America.
The event concluded with the announcement of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, along with the recognition of five outstanding individuals as runners up. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Susan Glenn, whose tireless efforts are instrumental in coordinating this annual contest, with invaluable support from our local Toastmasters organization. The event was skillfully emceed by Reggie Walker, the director of TAF, adding a touch of professionalism and charisma to the proceedings.
