It is with deep sadness that we mark the passing of Alan Boyer, founder of the Utah Premiere Brass, active for many years with Toastmasters and the annual Youth Speech Contest, a board member of the Timpanogos Arts Foundation and much, much more.
The American Fork Symphony wrote: We as a symphony are saddened to hear of the news of the passing of Alan Boyer. It was truly an honor to have Alan Boyer as a guest conductor for our symphony. He brought a sense of unique love and passion to our Symphony while under his direction. He will be greatly missed! Cheerio our dear friend.
The Utah Premiere Brass shared: It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Alan Boyer, husband of principal cornetist, Anne Boyer. Alan passed this morning after a short battle with brain cancer. Alan was a founding member of the Utah Premiere Brass and its first conductor. While most of our current members never played under Alan his influence is definitely still felt.
