Join the American Fork Children’s Choir for the second of two spring concerts celebrating ‘De Colores’ … In this concert songs will explore the shades of black, grey, silver and white, emerging from the clouds with “The Rainbow Connection” and “Over the Rainbow.” Come celebrate the last of Spring with us!
FREE UKULELE SUMMER CAMPS for YOUTH
AFCC is teaming with the American Fork Library to offer free Ukulele Summer camps for local youth, supported in part by the PARC program. Both groups will perform at the Original Utah Uke Fest on June 23rd at Noon at Highland Community Center. Register at http://bit.ly/AFLibraryUkulele2018
- June 11-14th, 2:30-4pm : Beginner Ukulele Camp, Gardner Community Room, American Fork Library. This class is for absolute beginners and will cover a number of fun, two-chord camp songs. Students will learn ukulele basics, first chords and strumming technique. Materials will be emailed to you for printing. Ages 9-14.
- June 18-21st, 2:30-4pm : Intermediate Ukulele Camp, Gardner Community Room, American Fork Library. This class is for students who have some experience with the ukulele and will focus on 3-4 chord songs as well as learning how to play melodies on the ukulele. Materials will be emailed to you for printing. Ages 9-14.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR RECORDING CAMP
AFCC will be diving into making an EP recording of the children’s musical, “The Sand and the Sea,” June 25-29th from 2-3:30pm in American Fork. FREE. Children should be willing to learn the material before the camp starts; rehearsal materials will be sent via email. Two days will be devoted to rehearsal and choosing soloists and then three days to recording. Video auditions (a song of the child’s choice) for this select group will be accepted by email at ryan@choirworks.com through June 4th.
American Fork Symphony
STEEL DAYS CONCERT
The American Fork Symphony will present a free outdoor concert on Monday, July 16 at 7pm as part of the Steel Days celebration. American Fork Amphitheater, 851 E. 700 North. FREE. The fun outdoor concert will feature a selection of patriotic and popular pieces that will have audience member’s toes tapping. The concert is free and open to the public; seating is first come first served. Lawn chairs or blankets will provide more comfortable seating at this venue. The concert is part of American Fork’s Steel Days celebration.
American Fork Youth Theater
AUDITIONS FOR PETER PAN JR.
American Fork Youth Theater will be holding auditions for Peter Pan Jr on May 11th from 3-6 p.m. at the American Fork Fitness Center. Auditioners ages 8-18 need to prepare 18 measures of a Disney of Broadway musical song. Directed by Rachelle Elbert and choreographed by Mike Romney, this Broadway timeless classical musical whisks you away to a place where dreams are born and no one ever grows up! The Timpanogos Chorale is pleased to present a choral jubilee, with selections both tender and exuberant 5/21/2018, 7:30pm, at the American Fork Junior High, 20 W 1120 N, American Fork. Recommended donation of $5/person, $15/family. This season’s concert features a wide repertoire of music. From Johnson’s soulful spiritual “Ain’t Got Time To Die,” to Rutter’s rambunctious arrangement of “When The Saints Go Marching,” to Gretchaninoff’s profound “Our Father,” with many more in between. LEARN TO USE COLORED PENCILS with Chuck Gilliam
Come join us May 26th and June 2nd from 10 AM to 1PM at the American Fork Arts Institute, 53 W Main in American Fork. We will explore the properties of this exciting new medium and learn ways to use the medium and it various elements. With hands-on activities we will let you grow with using colored pencils. You will learn the various applications of the pencils and the essential materials and tools such as papers, solvents, sharpeners, erasers, as well as complete color ranges for colored pencils.
