We are excited to announce an acrylic painting class in the month of September. It will be held Saturdays on the 15th and 22nd from 10 AM until 1 PM at the American Fork Arts Institute, 53 W Main in American Fork. This class will be designed to teach acrylic painting for all. The instructor, Heidi Boden, will take you through all of the elements involved in painting with acrylics. Be ready for the fun part: putting paint to paper or canvas. You will be presented with the many techniques available for your use with acrylic paints. Techniques such as dry brush, stippling, splattering, dabbing and layering just to name a few.
Heidi Boden loves to create drawings, paintings, and pottery. She has a passion to share the joy of creating with people of all ages. She received an art education BA degree from Brigham Young University. She has been an art teacher in private and public schools for many years, including 5 years at American Heritage School. She’s the author of art lessons for the online homeschool course, “The Family School: Latter-day Learning.” She has been the director of the American Fork Steel Days Art Show for multiple years and an active participant in the city’s visual arts programs. She currently opened an art studio at her residence in A.F., called “The Hideaway Art Studio” and teaches private art lessons and group paint nights in her spare time.
Materials need for this class are:
1 Canvas 11 x 14 or 16×20
Paint brushes: 1 inch flat and various rounds and filbert sizes
Paint: titanium white, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, phalo blue & green, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, ivory black (maybe alizarin crimson, dioxenine purple, cadmium orange)
Acrylic paint paper to practice on
Paint palette
Pencils & sketchbook
Apron or smock so you won’t get paint on your good clothes
