Nutcrackers set the stage for the American Fork Symphony Christmas Concert on December 11th, 2023 at the American Fork Junior High auditorium. The concert began a jazz combo for A Charlie Brown Christmas with the rest of the symphony walking in mid-number and joining in. Other highlights of the event included playful joke-swapping between conductor John Wright and his penguin sidekick, dancers joining the orchestra onstage for selections from the Nutcracker Suite, a guest appearance by Santa to conduct Leroy Anderson’s classic “Sleigh Ride,” and triumphant and full-bodied performances of “A Christmas Festival” and the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah.
